Operating Steps:
Power-On Operation: First close the isolating switch, then close the circuit breaker or load switch.
Power-Off Operation: First open the circuit breaker or load switch, then open the isolating switch.

Model Selection:
When selecting an isolating switch, ensure that its rated voltage, rated current, dynamic stability current, and thermal stability current meet the requirements of the application. The primary role of the isolating switch is to disconnect circuits with no load current, allowing for safe maintenance. Before operating the isolating switch, ensure that the circuit breaker has disconnected the circuit.

Use environmental conditions:
1. The upper limit of ambient temperature +40°C, the lower limit -10°C, Note: Allow storage and transportation at-25°C
2. Altitude not more than 1000m
3. Relative humidity: daily average is not more than 95%, monthly average is not more than 90%

4. Water vapor pressure: the daily average is not more than 2.2x 10-3Mpa, the monthly average is not more than1.8 x 10-3Mpa

5. The surrounding air should be free from corrosive or combustible gases, water vapor and other obvious pollution.

Typical Application Scenarios:

  • Indoor Switchgear Panels (KYN28, etc.): Integrated as primary isolating units within medium-voltage metal-clad switchgear assemblies.
  • Power Plants & Substations: Deployed in 10kV to 40.5kV transformer substations to establish a clear, safe visible break during circuit disconnections.
  • Industrial & Mining Enterprises: Used in heavy industrial plant distribution rooms to protect maintenance personnel by safely isolating sections of the power network.
  • Municipal Infrastructure & Commercial Complexes: Applied in urban ring main units and indoor distribution stations requiring reliable, space-saving safety isolation.

Core Advantages & Features:
  • Visible Isolation Gap for Maximum Safety: Provides a distinct, reliable physical break in the open position, ensuring absolute safety for technicians performing downstream maintenance.
  • Robust Mechanical Interlocking System: Features reliable mechanical interlock provisions to prevent misoperation (such as opening or closing under load), safeguarding both operators and primary assets.
  • Low-Resistance Current-Carrying Design: Main contacts and conductive paths are manufactured from high-purity electrolytic copper with silver-plating options, minimizing temperature rise and power loss during continuous full-load operations.
  • High-Grade Insulation Performance: Utilizes superior epoxy resin insulators and porcelain components offering high creepage distances, preventing flashovers in confined indoor environments.
  • Flexible Installation & Configuration: Available in multiple structural variations (with or without grounding switches) to match diverse switchgear cabinet dimensions and client layouts.

Why Choose Chennuo Electric?
  • Comprehensive Voltage Coverage (10kV – 40.5kV): One-stop sourcing platform for all medium-to-high voltage indoor isolation requirements, reducing your supply chain complexity.
  • Rigorous Quality Control & Testing: Every disconnecting switch undergoes strict factory inspections, including mechanical endurance tests, voltage withstand tests, and circuit resistance measurements.
  • Global Project Experience: Proven track record of supplying robust electrical equipment to power distributors, EPC contractors, and industrial importers across international markets.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What is the main function of an indoor disconnecting switch?
A: An indoor disconnecting switch (isolator) is primarily used to create a visible insulation gap in medium-voltage circuits when equipment is de-energized, ensuring safe maintenance. It is designed to switch small capacitive or inductive currents, but not heavy load or short-circuit currents.

Q2: What voltage tiers are available in Chennuo’s indoor isolator series?
A: Our indoor disconnecting switch series covers standard voltage classes from 10kV/12kV, 24kV, up to 40.5kV, with rated currents ranging from 630A to 2000A to suit various distribution layouts.

Q3: Does the switch include grounding capabilities?
A: Yes. We offer flexible configurations including switches without grounding blades, with single-side grounding blades, or with double-side grounding blades (earthing switches) to fulfill specific safety interlocking requirements.

Q4: Can these indoor isolators be operated with a motor, or are they strictly manual?
A: They support standard manual operation via an operating handle (CS mechanism). Additionally, motorized operation options can be configured upon request for automated substation applications.

Q5: What certifications and standards do your disconnecting switches comply with?
A: Our products are manufactured in strict compliance with relevant IEC standards and national GB standards (such as GB/T 1985 for high-voltage alternating disconnectors and earthing switches), ensuring seamless international project deployment.
